Sample Answer

Introduction

Peace in outworld comes from justice. It has been said by Martin Luther King Jr. “True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.” Justice brings equality, sense of equality leads to fraternity, social cohesion and unity. This ultimately results in peace.

Body

We obtain peace within ourselves when there is:

  • Fulfilment of basic human needs
  • Value expression
  • Absence of crisis of conscience
  • fulfilment of needs and aspirations
  • absence of feeling of relative deprivation
  • Sense of prevailing justice
  • Social belongingness

When we have peace within ourselves then values of empathy, compassion, tolerance are more expressed, because ability to read and understand other’s emotion also increases.

Internal peace also results in absence of negative emotion of anger, jealousy, greed etc. Only then a person can be objective and tolerant, which is prerequisite for justice.

Conclusion

Internal peace brings greater spirit of charity. Cohesion, cooperation and social capital increases. Hence we can say peace begins from within.
