Meghalaya, one of Northeastern State in India, is well known for its stunning views and rich biodiversity. This northeastern state was formed on 21 January 1972, talking about the districts in Meghalaya; it has 12 districts, further divided into 3 significant administrations. Well, about the little history here, Meghalaya was part of Assam before 1972, but later, it became announced as a separate state.

To truly understand the State Districts in Meghalaya, it is essential to familiarize yourself with the administrative divisions. Each administrative division has, one who works with the superintendent of police. Different district magistrates or officials. The official supervises the 12 districts in Meghalaya.

So, when Meghalaya was separated, there were two districts, United Khasi Hills & Jaintia District Hill and Garo the Hills District. However, as time changed, the Districts in Meghalaya increased in numbers i.e. by 12.

Administrative Divisions 

Each District in Meghalaya has separate administrative authority. The Deputy Commissioner is the head of district administration, who is majorly responsible for the law and order there.

In addition, the administrative officers and department, including the District Magistrate and Officer, are responsible for the further administrative functions in the state.
