Raziya Sultan(1236-40 AD)
She tried to appoint non-Turks in important posts. This had her unpopular among Turkish nobility who dethroned her.
She appointed an African siddi slave as the amir-i-akhur (master of the horse).
Balban(1266-87 AD)
Destroyed chahalgani system. Introduced ceremonies like sijda, paibos and nauroz (Persian new year) to emphasize noble’s inferiority to the king.
Created a department of spies and intelligence called Diwan-e-Barid and reorganized Diwan-i-arz (military department).
