Al Hujwiri

- He was a resident of Ghazni in Afghanistan and was forced to come to India as a captive of invading Turkish army.

- He wrote Kashf-ul-Mahjub (Unveilling of the Veiled) to explain the meaning of tasawwuf.
Amir Khusrau (1253-1325 AD)
- He was a great poet, musician and disciple of Shaikh Nizamuddin Auliya.
- Contributions:
- Gave a unique form to the Chisti sama by introducing the qaul (saying in Arabic), hymn sung at the opening or closing of qawwali.
