How many Districts are in Telangana?

Telangana, earlier in 1948, was a part of Hyderabad. At that time, there were only 8 districts in the state. The changes took place, and Telangana was formed in 2014.

• On 1 November 1956, two areas, the Telangana region of the state of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, were merged.
• Andhra Pradesh, in particular, was divided on 2 June 2014 into another state known as Telangana with 10 districts.
• It happened on 11 October 2016 the new 21 districts of Telangana were carved out. This expanded the organizational structure of the state from having 10 districts to 31
• Therefore, the total number of districts increased in the state of Telangana to 33 when, on 17 February 2019, two new districts were included.
