Turks had inherited a rich musical tradition from Arabs. New musical instruments such as rabab and sarangi were introduced. Sufism and Bhakti movement further gave impetus to the musical style.
Amir Khusrau and Sufi Saint Pir Bodhan are pioneers of this phase.
Coming of Turks to India brought Perso-Arabic airs (ragas), such as aiman, ghora, sanam etc. Indian classical work on music Raga Darpan was translated to Persian during the reign of Firuz Tughlaq.
Raja Man Singh of Gwalior was a great music lover (Man Kautuhal of his reign included musical nodes of Muslims).
